Simon Gao was educated abroad in Singapore, Switzerland and New Zealand, before returning home to China to study fashion brand management at the Raffles Design Institute. In 2012 he launched his eponymous label Simon Gao, which later earned him Esquire Magazine’s “Style Designer of the Year” award. He was later included in Vogue Italia’s New Talents List. In 2013 he held his first runway show at Paris Fashion Week, and has gone on to showcase his collections in Beijing, Shanghai, London, Paris and Hong Kong.

Looking at Chinese historical swordsmen, Japanese samurai and Western medieval knights; people always look up to courageous and righteous warriors. Since launching the brand in 2012, SIMONGAO has always been adhered to the persistent pursuit of chivalry. Simon continues to combine oriental characteristics with contemporary silhouettes. Inspired by renowned director Johnnie To’s action-fantasy movie “The Heroic Trio” in the 90s, Simon incorporates the elements of wisdom and romance of strong independent women into this capsule collection. Traditional Chinese embroidery is incorporated into the sharply-tailored jacket, styled with soft lace and SIMONGAO’s signature wide-legged trousers. The female curve is being highlighted by the superhero-like long coat and tight undergarments, portraying a modern urban woman who is both unapologetic and romantic, courageously exploring the world.
